Engagement photos at Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City



N + R’s engagement session took place at Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City, one of my favorite spots in New York for couples who want a mix of city views and space to move. With the Manhattan skyline, open waterfront paths, and quieter pockets throughout the park, it’s a location that offers variety without feeling overwhelming.


We spent most of the session walking along the water, stopping when moments naturally came together instead of forcing poses. Gantry Plaza State Park is great for engagement photos because it allows things to feel relaxed and unstructured, which makes it easier for couples to be themselves.

Toward the end of the session, we switched things up and ran around the subway nearby. It added a completely different energy and felt like a natural extension of the day. A little louder, a little faster, and very New York. That contrast between the calm waterfront and the movement of the subway made the session feel full and true to how N + R move together.
