C + J’s Wedding at The Rockaway Hotel | Rockaway Beach, NY
Some weddings just feel effortless like the couple let go of tradition and simply followed what felt right. That was exactly the vibe for C + J’s celebration at The Rockaway Hotel in Rockaway Beach. Chic but relaxed, personal but elevated every part of the day was unmistakably them.
Originally planned for outdoors, their ceremony was moved inside last-minute due to rain. But honestly? It ended up being just as beautiful. Their custom white drapery created the perfect backdrop soft, clean, and intimate — and it made the space feel like it was always meant to be that way. You could still feel all the emotion in the room, and maybe even more because of how everyone cozied in close to witness it.
The Rockaway Hotel itself set the tone for the day: modern, coastal, and full of personality. From rooftop portraits to candid getting-ready moments (including their dog making a few appearances), it all felt very relaxed and real in the best way.
C + J made sure their guests felt as celebrated as they did. Cocktail hour featured a custom cigar roller such a fun, unexpected touch. And at the reception, they brought in a live engraver to create personalized keepsakes. It was thoughtful, interactive, and added so much to the overall experience.
One of my favorite design elements was their table decor instead of going overly floral, they styled everything with fresh grapes and citrus tucked among white blooms. It was simple, unique, and totally them.
And throughout it all, the way they looked at each other, the laughter they shared, the quiet little moments in between the big ones that’s what made the day unforgettable.
