A Wedding Day That Felt Easy, Personal, and Very Them



P + C’s wedding day at Oceans Edge Resort in Key West started the way so many of my favorite days do. Slow, quiet, and centered around the people who know them best.


Both P and C got ready alongside their sisters, three on each side. It felt relaxed and familiar, more like a family morning than a rush to a ceremony. There was time to breathe, time to laugh, and time to let the day unfold naturally. One of the most meaningful moments happened early on with a first look between C and her dad, followed by a first touch between P and C before the ceremony. Simple, emotional moments that grounded the entire day.


Their ceremony took place right on the water, with the bay and passing boats behind them. The setting felt open and effortless, and the light just kept getting better. Afterward, we wandered the docks for sunset portraits, and this is where the day took a very Key West turn. Sharks, tarpon, and other sea life swam beneath the dock while we photographed, drawing everyone’s attention and adding an unexpected, unforgettable layer to the evening.


The rest of the night flowed easily. Guests mingled, kids danced, and the celebration felt intimate without feeling small. Oceans Edge Resort was the perfect backdrop for a wedding that prioritized connection, family, and being present over anything overly formal.
